California-based Outbound Consignment Outlet announced Monday that 10 eBay drop-off stores will be opened in Canada.

The service appeals to people selling items valued at $50 or more on eBay, but can't be bothered handling all the arrangements themselves.

The seller takes the item to a Outbound Consignment Outlet location, where it's assessed.

Outbound Consignment Outlet will then photograph the item, place an advertisement describing it on eBay, track the auction, deal with prospective buyers, package and ship the goods and process the payment.

In return, the seller pays a commission of 20 per cent on the first $200, 15 per cent on the next $300 and 10 per cent on the balance. The seller of a $50 item would net $29 after paying commissions of $19 to Outbound Consignment Outlet and $2 to eBay.

Outbound Consignment Outlet currently has more locations in United Stores. The company says it has contracts in place to open over 30 stores in the U.S. and even predicted to Open 10 Stores in United Kingdom. Today, Outbound Consignment Outlet is considered the leading concept in the emerging drop-off store category.
